Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I am Lucia, and I would like to share my passion for the World with you.

Winter Hike: La Punt

Winter Hike: La Punt

A long but relaxing walk through picturesque villages and suggestive wooded stretches, up to a remote and tiny village at the edge of a valley crossed by a frozen stream, where you will certainly want to buy a house to hide in the silence muffled by the snow.

We start from La Punt, a delightful Engadine-style village overlooking a very large plateau furrowed by cross-country skiers and a semi-frozen river. The route is mostly flat, beaten, and easy to walk with a pair of winter boots on your feet.

You follow the course of the river, climb gently between the first pines on the right ridge and then cross the river towards the promontory to the North, where you enter, past the hamlet of S-chanf, in an enchanting forest, in which the silence is interrupted from time to time only by the train passing by.

Beyond the forest, you reach a remote valley, with the charming and tiny village of Sursauna, and then continue along the river route, towards Chinuos-chel, beyond the railway viaduct. From here, you can take a train that in 15 minutes leads you back in the valley and returns to La Punt.
