Bowls-fever: the perfect spot in Zurich for bowls-lovers
No secret that the so-called "bowls" have become an obsession by now. Any food served in a bowl is much more tempting, not only to taste, but also to the Instagram page, waiting for the cool flatlay.
Maybe because of the colors, the mix of foods, more or less vegetarian, carefully stacked in the center of the large bowl, maybe because it is a great way to assemble a series of superfoods that are a cure-all for our diet, it’s a matter of facts that the Bowls have become viral, every in vogue restaurant has its own interpretation, and they are a not so boring version of a complete and healthy dish. With particular attention to aesthetics, because you know that looks matter!
Zurich is no exception and restaurants started to follow the fashion of the moment and serve inviting bowls in light, green, ethnic versions.
Today I tried two delicious variations in the beautiful vegetarian restaurant Beetnut, in Lagerstrasse.
The menu offers a series of dishes defined Hearty, more full-bodied versions with a base of cereals or quinoa, accompanied by Mexican or Middle Eastern flavors, or a vegetarian poke version. You can chose an add-on such as halloumi or feta, and sauces. Obviously I did not miss the seasonal option, with a base of rice and a magnificent garnish with mushrooms, pumpkin and truffle dressing.
Salads are lighter versions of these bowls, without cereals, based on kale, spinach, avocado. Toasts and soups complete the menu. The only downside is that the bowls are made with mixes which are already prepared, and although they are assembled in a counter right in front of your eyes, you can not make changes, except for the additions provided in the menu.
The restaurant is very welcoming: minimal design, some raspberry-coloured walls, and plants hanging everywhere.
Price of the bowls 18-22 Chf.
