Hi.

Welcome to my blog! I am Lucia, and I would like to share my passion for the World with you.

Winter Hike: Hasliberg

Winter Hike: Hasliberg

Usually I have to work much harder to reach such breathtaking views, but this time it took just over 3 hours to reach a dreamy viewpoint.

The climb starts between the houses of the village of Hasliberg Wasserwendi, where you have to make your way through the skiers storming the cable cars, before putting on your snowshoes and wandering through the soft hills crowded with wooden farms.

You then enter a forest that thickens and thins out around a stream, until it opens up onto a large gently sloping area where pristine snow, delightful wooden farms, and a tangle of ski slopes coexist.

From here begins the most tiring part of the route, an undaunted slope that rises towards the top, with a short stop near a cross and a hut, where to stop and enjoy the view, wonderful already at this height.

But it is shortly after this stop that you will be fascinated by this path made of tracks that plow white expanses of snow, hooding soft peaks, and around, rugged cliffs overlooking the surrounding valleys.

We enjoyed the sun, the cold wind and a hot tea as we reached the top: but if you continue for a few minutes, on the way down, without going very low, you reach a solitary bench overlooking the snowy valleys, where you can sit, completely alone, to appreciate the beauty of the view, and the silence.

The descent was steep and fun, among the soft snow that gently accompanies your snowshoes as you slide down the slope: without following any other tracks, we entered the forest and reached the stream again, among the rustle of the pines, the smell of resin, and the sound of some wild animals hiding from view among the vegetation.
