The perfect spot for sunset in Udaipur

The perfect spot for sunset in Udaipur

The most beautiful part of the city of Udaipur overlooks Lake Pichola, the main of the two lakes on which it stands. The eastern shore is dominated by the City Palace complex, the marvelous royal palace towering over pastel-colored houses, temples, and a few ghats (the stairs leading to the water for sacred baths) that reach the lake.

During the day the articulated puzzle of buildings is very beautiful, but at sunset, when the amber light of the lampposts begins to light up, it becomes a spectacle. From anywhere around the lake you can see this picturesque view, or from the terraces of the hotels and restaurants that dot the entire shore.

We have found a beautiful place from which to admire the sunset over the lake, and an undisturbed view of the royal palace. On the short peninsula facing the shore of the royal palace, which is accessed from the Daiji Bridge, you can reach the Amber complex, which houses a hotel, restaurant and café overlooking the lake. From here, although the Ambrai Rd road seems to die in a muddy parking lot, you can take a small dirt road, which first runs along a high wall, then along a small park, and finally reaches the small Hindu Maji ka Mandir temple.

Here, a terrace, frequented by young couples, looks towards the western shore, where the Luxury Boutique Hotel Raasleela offers a beautiful image of tall palm trees and white ogival domes.

On the opposite side, a ghat descending towards the river offers a view of the sunset over the lake, with the royal palace in the background. You also have a beautiful view of the Taj Lake Palace, the luxurious hotel that occupies the central island in the middle of the lake. It is a place highly frequented by locals, but at sunset a religious silence reigns all around.
